Jaydie on the beachHere are a bunch of pictures from the block party 2009. I put Brent in charge and he did a great job at getting a ton of pictures. The above pictures are pictures of Jaydie's siblings. For those of you who do not know, my niece Jaydie died of a brain tumor in 2005. In keeping her memory alive, her wonderful parents, Jeff and Cami, started a foundation in her name. Jaydie was very much a giving person with a tender heart. She had started to notice that some kids were going without things while they recieved their treatment. This is where Team Jaydie began. She donated things like blankets, DVD players, CD players, and toys to the kids in the hospital. Since she has passed, The Jaydie Lynn King Foundation has continued to do just that...and more. They also donate money to Phoenix Children's Hospital and the Make A Wish Foundation. Their annual Block Party is one way that they raise money to do those things.
And, what a party!! They have bounce houses, slides, basketball hoops, a make-you-puke apple spinner ride, bracelet making, sand bucket painting and decorating, games with prizes galore and all the food that you could want to eat. Oh, and did I mention the reptile exhibit?? Always a big hit with the kids! We had so much fun, as always, and it's so nice to be a part of something that is helping other people. Thanks, King family for the great Block party!! We had a blast!
